Chicken cutlet | iftar recipe | chicken patties


Chicken cutlet or chicken patties/ chicken tikki is a delicious snack recipe.They make a great starter for iftar or weekend parties.

As Ramdan is going on. one of my dearest sister suggested for new iftar recipes .so I thought of sharing an interesting recipes I will be updating further new iftar recipes in the month of Ramadan so stay tuned!

I have shared my recipes in step by step method with detailed pictures.

Wash and boiled potatoes and carrot in a pressure cooker .Reduced the steam , drain the excess water from potatoes .keep aside.

In a kadai add oil,salt,red chilli powder,cumin powder,salt and lemon juice

Add chicken .I have used bone chicken .you can also used boneless chicken it’s easy to shred.

Peel the potatoes place in a bowl add chopped onions,coriander leaves,salt,cumin powder,red chilli powder and garam masala powder.

Add there shredded chicken .

Mash the potatoes with the help of fork.mix all the above ingredients .

Make the lemon size ball press in the center to make a circle shape or oval shape. coat with the beaten eggs .coat again with the breadcrumbs. Keep in a freezer for atleast 30 minutes.

I have choose to shallow can also deep fry the cutlets.

serve the delicious chicken cutlet with ketchup or mayonise.


  • Potatoes medium sized 3_ 4
  • Carrot 1
  • Boneless chicken 250 GM
  • Salt as needed
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped onions 1
  • Coriander leaves
  • Gram masala powder 1 tsp

For chicken marinate:

  • Boneless chicken 250 GM
  • Salt as needed
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp


  • Wash and cut the potatoes in to half .Peel the carrot pressure cook the potatoes and carrot .Reduce the steam .Drain the excess water.keep aside.
  • In a kadai marinate the chicken with a tbsp of oil,salt,red chilli powder,cumin powder and lemon juice. Cook them and allow it to cool.shred the chicken.
  • Place the potatoes in a bowl add boiled potatoes and carrot,add chopped onions,coriander leaves,add red chilli powder,cumin powder,garam masala powder mix all the ingredients evenly.
  • Make a lemon size ball press in the center .shape the cutlets as circle or oval.
  • First coat them with the beaten eggs then coat with the breadcrumbs.
  • Place the cutlets in the freezer for at least 30 minutes .
  • Place the cutlets in a pan add little oil .cook them on a low flame flip them in between till the cutlets turned crisp and golden brown.
  • Chicken cutlets goes well with a mayonise or ketchup.
