Green Falafel Recipe

Falafel is made with the chickpeas, is indeed a vegan food; it’s a great source of protein for people who have cut meat out of their diet. It’s relatively low in fat and has no cholesterol if you fry it in heart-healthy oil. I have used green moong lentils for falafel. If you top it with veggies in a pita, it becomes a filling and nourishing meal.

I have shared a step by step method to prepare an easy way of falafel recipe with a detailed pictures below.

Pour the green moong dal in a bowl and cover them by about 3 inches of cold water. Let them soak for 2_3 hours They will double in size as they soak.

Drain and rinse them well pour them in a blender along with green chillies, coriander leaves, red chillies, kaduri methi, garlic cloves, cumin seeds.

Pulse all the ingredients to a rough coarse form.Transfer them and n a bowl. Add onion paste.

Add cornflour. Mix well. Form a falafel mixture in a round form balls or a slider shaped by using wet hands. Or by using the scoop.

Fill a skillet with vegetable oil. Heat the oil slowly over medium heat. Meanwhile Form a falafel mixture in a round form balls or a slider shaped by using wet hands. Or by using the scoop. Deep fry them on a medium heat. Till it turns golden brown.

Place the falafel in an absorbent paper.

Serve falafel fresh and hot They go best with the plate of hummus or stuff with pita bread . or simply dip in a toum (garlic sauce).

Easy Garlic Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cup green moong dal/ green lentils
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1_2 red chillies
  • 5_6 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp kasuri methi/ dry Fenugreek leaves
  • 2 medium size onions
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 tsp whole cumin seeds
  • Oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS
