Semiya Biryani Masala Recipe – Vermicelli is a very thin pasta broken in to small strips . The beauty if this vermicelli is its cooks up fast. Any variety of semiya can be used for this recipe. The quantity of water to use for semiya depends on the variety of vermicelli .

Semiya Biryani Masala Recipe

I have shared below step by step method with Pictures for easy understanding

In a wok heat oil add thin sliced onions , saute until the onion changes its color to light brown . Add ginger garlic paste saute till the raw aroma goes away.

Add red chili powder , salt and a pinch of turmeric powder , stir well

Add thick yogurt

In a blender add chopped tomatoes , blend a fine puree , add them to the mixture and add chopped coriander leaves and cook for few mintues.

Meanwhile boil water in a pan , add a teaspoon oil , salt, add vermicelli bring to a boil . switch off the flame , let it stand in hot water for 2 minutes , use a spoon to check , if they are soft then it is ready.

Strain in a colander . Drain the excess water . Add them to the mixture

Fold it gently with the mixture . Take it off the flame and let it sit for couple of minutes before serving.

  • 200 Grams vermicelli
  • 3 Onions
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp. yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. Oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • A pinch turmeric powder
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves
