These yeast Doughnut is light and fluffy with a rich chocolate glaze on top. These donuts are made with whole wheat flour. In this post I have shared a chocolate glaze donuts these ingredients are easily available in the Indian market.
I have shared whole wheat doughnut recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below.
In a mixing bowl add butter and Lukewarm milk
In another bowl pour warm water and sprinkle yeast.
Add sugar let it rest for 10 minutes
When the butter melts add egg whisk well.
Add vanilla essence
Add yeast
Add whole wheat flour
First mix with a spoon.
Add more milk if required to form a smooth dough
Cover the bowl and keep the dough to leaven for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
While donut is leaven will prepare the glaze.
Divide the dough into small portions.
Sprinkle some flour, Roll dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into doughnuts using a donut cutter or cookie cutter about one 1-inch and one 3 or 4-inch .
Let it stand for about 10 minutes
Heat oil in a kadai or deep frying pan Carefully drop doughnuts into hot oil, only a few at a time. Fry, turning once, for about 3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on prepared paper towels.
For chocolate glaze: In a bowl at 3 tablespoon of icing sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
Add milk until you have reached desired consistency.
Glaze are ready to dip
Place the doughnut upside down and the chocolate glaze place them on a wire rack
Chocolate doughnuts are ready. Chocolate doughnuts are ready to serve

- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoon yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 3 tablespoon butter
- Oil for frying

- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoon icing sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
