Drumstick or moringa recipe is a quick easy poriyal recipe with a simple ingredients available at home goes well with steam rice and dal. Moringa has many health benefits rich in vitamin B, good for bones, lower blood pressure.

I have shared drumstick curry recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

In a cooker add drumstick and a pinch of turmeric powder. Add a cup of water cook for a whistle. Turn off. When a pressure released from the cooker drain the excess water.

In a blender add peanuts, garlic cloves and whole red chili blend coarsely.

 

In a kadai heat oil add mustard seeds and  curry leaves when it begin to splutter add sliced onions.

 

Add them to the onions saute for few minutes.

Now add drumsticks mix gently. Let it simmer fot 5 minutes.

Serve drumsticks poriyal with steam rice and dal.

Drumstick Masala Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-3 long drumsticks cut into pieces
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 7-8 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2-3 whole red chilies
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt as needed
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a cooker add drumstick and a pinch of turmeric powder. Add a cup of water cook for a whistle. Turn off. When a pressure released from the cooker drain the excess water.In a blender add peanuts, garlic cloves and whole red chili blend coarsely.
  • In a kadai heat oil add mustard seeds and curry leaves when it begin to splutter add sliced onions saute onions till it changes transparent.
  • Add them to the onions saute for few minutes.
  • Now add drumsticks mix gently. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve drumsticks poriyal with steam rice and dal.
