Pyaz Pakoda is an instant quick snack recipe best served with chai/ tea especially during rainy season and cold winters.
I have shared a quick pyaz pakoda recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below.
In a mixing bowl add gram flour, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, curry leaves and sliced onions.
Add chopped green chilies mix well. Nicely squeeze the onions with your palms. The onions release moisture.
Sprinkle water mix everthing well to coat the onions with the flour. The dough must be tight and not soggy like batter else they absorb lot of oil while frying.
Heat oil in a deep bottom kadai. Make small pakoda and drop them in oil. Do not add too many Pakoda in the pan they should have some space to move around.
Flip and fry other side. Fry them till golden brown.
Place the onion pakoda in an absorbent paper to absorb excess oil.
Serve onion Pakoda hot with a cup of tea or coffee.

- 3 sliced onions
- 1 cup gram flour/ chickpea flour
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 2-3 strands curry leaves
- 1 green chili
- Oil for frying
- Salt as needed
