Making Home made Curd is easy to do the task , which requires no experience . This Post is for those who have trouble making curd at home . Curd is used almost everyday to include in meals or to make Lassi , Butter milk etc . So curd is one of the basic food consumed in day to day life .

I have shared homemade curd recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below

 

Pour milk and bring to boil on a medium to low flame.

To get thick curd ,Simmer the milk for 15 minutes on a very low flame . This step is to get a very thick yogurt . You can skip if you need moderate thick yogurt .

Allow the milk to cool down , The temperature of the milk must be lukewarm .

Take one teaspoon of curd in a bowl.

Add the luke warm milk in the Curd bowl.

Cover and move the bowl to a warm place . Allow it to set for 3-4 hours in hot climate curd in set depending on climate . You can break a red chili and drop it in the milk . It is optional and does not make the curd spicy or hot .

When the curd is set , move it to refrigerator .

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1/2 liter milk
  • 1 teaspoon curd ( as starter )

INSTRUCTION :

Recipe note :

  • Do not add yogurt to hot milk it will coagulate the milk .
  • Do not use sour starter, will yield a sour curd . If the milk does not set well . Try again by keeping milk in a casserole or Oven.
