Bombay Veg Sandwich is a popular Mumbai street food. These Sandwich are delicious in taste and it’s quick and instant to prepare at home. Mix of vegetables stuff in the bread with mint chutney gives a good combination to the sandwich.

I have shared an easy and quick recipe of Sandwich in a step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

In a blender add fresh coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies, salt, tamarind pulp, garlic, onions and kasuri methi to a fine paste.

Apply melted butter to all sides of the bread.Cut the edges of the bread slices. Apply mint chutney.

Place the tomatoes, cucumber and onions.

Cover the sandwich with one more bread slices on top. Cut into squares and serve with tomato sauce.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6-8 Bread slices
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 medium size onions thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes thinly sliced

For mint chutney

  • 4_5 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup of fresh coriander leaves and mint leaves
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1/2 onion
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 tsp tamarind pulp
  • 1/2 Kasuri methi ( optional)
  • 1 tsp chat masala powder.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a blender add fresh coriander leaves and mint leaves, green chillies, salt , garlic cloves, onions, tamarind pulp, chat masala powder and kasuri methi blend to a fine paste.
  • Apply melted butter to all sides of the bread.Cut the edges of the bread slices. Apply mint chutney.
  • Place the tomatoes, cucumber and onions.
  • Cover the sandwich with one more bread slices on top. Cut into squares and serve with tomato sauce.
