Hummus is a exciting and a tasty dip! Made from chickpeas. Chickpeas has major nutrients like, vitamin A , calcium etc. Chickpeas blend with tahini sauce along with olive oil gives a smooth texture. I have shared hummus Recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

Wash and soak chickpeas for 5-6 hours. Add chickpeas in a pressure cooker fill with water. Add salt and baking soda. Baking soda softens chickpeas really well and give soft texture.pressure cook for 6-7 whistle.

As pressure released check the chickpeas mash with a spoon you are able to mash it completely then its done.drain in a colander drain excess water.

In a blender add chickpeas blend for a minute. Now add chopped garlic.

Add cumin powder.

Add olive oil.

Add tahini sauce

Add lemon juice for the extra tang you can add more lemon juice.

Blend all the above ingredients to a fine smooth paste. If you are not able to grind smooth add extra olive oil or a tablespoon water to it.

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt as needed
  • 2 tablespoon tahini sauce
  • A pinch red chili powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Blend all the above ingredients to a fine smooth paste. If you are not able to grind smooth add extra olive oil or a tablespoon water to it.
  • Hummus is ready now.Serve with pita bread.
